The Magician Description
With his wand aloft his robes freshly pressed and all the fresh exuberance of spring in bloom around him, the Magician prepares to make a wonderful life for himself.
The fool has survived his journey through youth and while he Is still a bit hopeful and naive, he has now become a powerful young man with many choices ahead of him and all the paths are laid out on the table for him to point his wand at and choose.
In the traditional Rider-Waite deck it shows us a young man with a wand aloft standing in front of a table with a sword, a pentacle a cup, and Staff.
These are the symbols of the Minor Arcana and in some ways represent the concerns of daily life.
They represent love and money, work and travel, and struggles and victories that we are all destined to experience on some level in the minutiae of our lives.
The minor arcana are also the mirror that reflects our character.
It is how we choose to handle these challenges that offer us opportunities for growth or show us the need for it in our lives.
The minor arcana represent the cycles that we sometimes participate in despite our best effort of will to rise above them.
In many cases, they are the simple mundane tasks that come as a consequence and a privilege of being a grown-up.
Sometimes in the midst of them, it can be hard to remember that you are the magician who started the whole process. We are most lost when we get separated from our own truth.
The Magician represents a young man at the height of his power who has all the tools at his disposal to make a good life for himself but stops for a moment to consider what that might mean to him.
The Magician card often represents a young person who has just graduated school or vocational training and is contemplating his future and his choice of career and experiences as he steps out in the world to reveal himself.
We know that because he has a wand pointed with great intention to the heavens and a coin in the other hand and the infinity symbol above his head. As he seemingly contemplates his individual path to wealth.
This card seems to catch him in that moment where he has all the confidence and sees all the possibilities but has yet to decide.

It may be time to drop that wand and declare, “as above, so below.”
