The Hanged Man Description
Oh man, caught at the crossroads and no clear path out. The only thing you can do is wait.
The hanged man card is usually a reference to a medieval practice of hanging someone upside down, it was called baffling. It was a punishment to “wake up” the penitent to make them take responsibility and look at their troubles from another perspective.
I love the imagery of the traveler stuck in the airport because regardless of how hard you work or fuss or fume sometimes you have to just wait it out until you are back in sync with the right timing.
The hanged man is all about learning to be at peace with where you are at so that you can get a clear picture of where you want to go.
It is also about taking responsibility and learning to grow up. Sometimes you have to grow up to level up. If you want to move on to better things in life you have to take responsibility for your choices and start actively trying to make better ones.
It can be about the sensation that Yogis call surrendering to the pose.
Sometimes you just have to sit with your own resistance and let it be until it’s just not such a huge thing anymore. Then you can choose the right road to get you to your destination.
The other thing to consider is whether you need to sit down and do some goal setting. It is easy to get stuck at a crossroads if you don’t know where you are going and you don’t have a goal in mind.
Always this card is a call to face facts but once you do know that the solution is close at hand.
Once you have dealt with your own emotions and panic over the situation the way out of it will become clear.
